79 – CB Live: Courage Consultant with Patty Marbury

Patty is the Learning and Development Director for UVA Finance at the University of Virginia. In this role, she leads a team of trainers and provides guidance and leadership on all phases of employee development including analyzing learning needs, training content development and delivery, and evaluating the effectiveness of learning programs.

Prior to joining UVAFinance, Patty spent 12 years in Human Resources at UVA, developing and delivering leadership development programs, and managing the systems and technical training team. Patty began her career in employee development with the Federal government, serving in the Office of Personnel Management and the Department of Education. Patty is a certified leadership coach, helping leaders and organizations confront and manage challenges.

For the past two years, Patty has been leading her department’s Inclusive Excellence team. The team and department leadership are in the process of implementing their plan which includes 11 goals and 33 action items to address diversity, equity, and inclusion.

Patty holds a Master’s degree in Public Administration from the University of Baltimore and a BA in Government and Politics from, University of Maryland.
