Leadership Now!
I had the absolute pleasure of joining Dan Pontefract on his enlightening podcast “Leadership Now”! A massive thanks to Dan for having me as a guest and for creating such an engaging platform where thought leaders come together to explore and discuss the nuances of leadership in today’s world.
Our conversation was an enriching experience, diving into the core concepts of my show “Courage to Leap & Lead” on YouTube and my podcast of the same name. We spoke extensively about a concept very dear to my heart: Microcourage.
What is Microcourage, you might ask? It’s all about the everyday acts of courage that we accomplish but are often overlooked. It’s the bravery required to tell the truth when a lie is the easier path. It’s about offering help even when there’s a risk of rejection. It’s the strength to say “no” when feeling pressured to say “yes.”
Dan and I explored the significance of these micro-moments of courage and how they shape our leadership style, our character, and, ultimately, our destiny. These might seem like small acts, but their cumulative impact on our lives and those around us is colossal.
For those interested in diving deep into the world of Microcourage, how it reshapes our approach to leadership, and how it empowers us to take leaps and lead fearlessly, I invite you to tune into the “Leadership Now” podcast.
Listen to the podcast 🎧, watch my show 📺, and let’s embrace the power of Microcourage together. Let’s redefine courage not as a heroic, grand gesture but as a daily act of bravery, resilience, and authenticity. Because every act of courage, no matter how small, can inspire change.
Thank you once again, Dan, for this wonderful opportunity to share my passion and insights with your audience.🙏

PODCAST:
Dr. Sharon Melnick: “As a woman, do you think about taking back your power? “

Dr. Melnick became a clinical psychologist because she wanted to create positive evolution. Her research at Harvard Medical School was on intergenerational issues – how children who didn’t feel seen, heard, or able to make an impact became parents and could overcome their difficult childhoods to make it better for their children (not perpetuate patterns they were conditioned into.) She’s leveraged these learnings into coaching leaders.
In response to the challenges faced in prior recessions, she wrote Success under Stress. Many women in her audiences told her their biggest stress was confidence, which led her to share what she learned in her research combined with an understanding of overcoming bias in book Confidence when it Counts.
Hearing the frustrations of smart but underutilized women led to her work on advancing and retaining women as the Founder of the Next Level Leader virtual coaching initiative (which has a 92% success rate advancing multicultural women into next-level opportunities.)
Her education is from Yale University, UC Berkeley, and Harvard Medical School. She is a former Adjunct Professor at the Walter E. Carroll School of Management at Boston College.
She currently resides in NYC. She’s a runner and a mountain biker, always the first one on the dance floor, and a never-ending learner about human evolution.
